Project Ignite

Our Circuit unit is starting off with Project Ignite.  Here is the worksheet.  Log in first to your Google Account, then follow the directions on the worksheet to create an account on Project Ignite.  You have been assigned 3 projects to start.  Do not skip any steps!

While you are working on the projects - Create a page in your Engineering Log beginning on page 55 called Circuit Vocabulary.  Write down the vocabulary having to do with circuits and their definitions.  At some point in the future, there will be a quiz on the vocabulary and you may want to refer to your engineering log for information.  You may also make sketches or notes to help you remember the concepts. (Here are some sample vocabulary words -not all of them, breadboard, current, diode, ohm, etc.)

Creating a Race Car and Track in Flash

You will be completing an animation of a car(s) and racetrack using Flash.  Some of the skills you will be learning as you complete the animation are:
  • Using Drawing tools
  • Using Layers
  • Creating a Path
  • Adding Audio
To help you with the lessons, click on each tutorial which will walk you through the process.  If you miss something, just back up the video.
Drawing the Race Car
After you understand the drawing tools, create your own design of your car.  Remember it will be minimized to fit on the track, so design for that size - you want details to be visible.

You may add a second path and racer to the same track so they can race.  Just repeat the same directions above, using a different color for the path and different car.

Audio Links for free sounds
Click below for some links to free sounds.  Download them, label them and keep them in a Sounds folder.  I would suggest you also create sub folders for similar sounds.  For example:  CarSounds, ExplosionSounds, etc.  If you have additional free sounds sites you would like to add to this list, please give them to Mrs. Eitner.
