Video Log Check-In

Check the online Table of Contents to make sure you are keeping your Video/Film Log up to date.

Video Review

Because this is a class, constructive criticism is important as you better your craft.  Sometimes people will see something in your movie/video that you missed or missed something you intended to show.  In this assignment you will be reviewing each movie in a google form - 1 for each movie.  We will screen the movies in class, you will score them and then explain your ratings in the comments section.  You are being graded on how you score the movie and justify your rating in the comment section.  Comments should explain things you don't like and offer suggestions for improvement.  For example,  "The audio was too low and I couldn't understand the narrator.  You could either up the volume of the speaker or lower the volume of the music under the narrator or eliminate it."

Before/After Video Shots

In this assignment, you will use the shot list to take several short video shots.  Bring them into iMovie, label them with a title overlay, for example  Medium Shot - Before.  Then watch the video and take the notes from the tutorial video.  When you have finished the tutorial, go back out and reshoot they same shots using the suggestions and techniques for good video shot composition you learned in the video.

After you have taped in your camera movement sheet, write in your film log the top ten shots you most expect to use in your filming.  If there are more, add them as well.  Include the abbreviation and a brief description.

My First Production

Assignment:  Create a short video telling a story.

Using the pre-production checklist, write a treatment summary of your video.  Create a storyboard and a script.
Treatment summary, storyboard and script are due by Thursday, September 28

Once those have been okayed by  your teacher, create a shotlist and a shooting schedule - remember in film production time is money, the more organized you are, the more efficiently you can shoot the video, and save time.

Determine your cast and crew.

Check out equipment - What will you need?

Shoot the video.

Edit the video - Think of appropriate titles, transitions, audio, credits, etc.

Export the video and upload it to google drive and share with Mrs. Eitner.
Here is the rubric I will be using to grade the production
Completed Video is due Friday, October 6, 2017, Drop Dead Date October 13.

On page 13 of your film log, research how the dragon illusion works.  This research will become the narrative with your movie of your dragon. Be sure to add your sources so if you quote something you have the source, and you have the source for your credits.
