A Public Service Announcement (PSA) is a free "commercial" for a non-profit organization.
It should:
Grab your Attention
Send a specific, clear message on a particular topic
Affect the audience in such a way, that the audience acts, or changes their behavior
Steps to Create a PSA
1. Choose a topic that you think is important to your audience (middle school audience)
Suggestions: Read, Social Media, Think Before You Post, Texting (Appropriate Use), Cyberbullying, hunger,
2. Create a storyboard - Your story board should show a beginning, a middle and an ending.
3. Write the script - decide if you need narration, actors talking or both
4. Create a shot list - if you are video taping.
5. Collect your images in high resolution, be sure to cite your sources, so they can go on your credits slides
